The Brief

Starfish Initiative: Revamping a Non-Profit Website for Improved Navigation and Accessibility

Starfish Initiative is a non-profit organization based in Indianapolis, Indiana, that provides educational and mentoring programs to underprivileged students. They approached us with concerns about the user experience of their existing website, which was slow, difficult to navigate, and lacked accessibility on mobile devices.
In addition, they had challenges in updating the content of their website, which included event listings and blog posts.

Challenges

1. Outdated design and confusing navigation

The first was to address the outdated design and confusing navigation of the previous website. We had to create a more intuitive user flow and design a new navigation menu that made it easy for users to find the information they needed. In addition, we had to optimize the website for speed and mobile accessibility, while maintaining a visually appealing design.

2. Create an easy-to-use content management system:

The second challenge was to create an easy-to-use content management system that would allow Starfish Initiative to update their website easily. We had to ensure that the CMS was intuitive and user-friendly, with an interface that was accessible to non-technical users.

The Solution

Our team worked closely with Starfish Initiative to create a website that addressed their specific pain points and challenges. We developed the website using WordPress with custom HTML and CSS coding to ensure a unique design that met their needs.

We addressed the navigation issues by creating a new, intuitive menu that made it easy for users to find the information they needed. We also optimized the website for speed and mobile accessibility, making it faster and more user-friendly on all devices.

To solve the content management challenge, we implemented a user-friendly CMS that made it easy for Starfish Initiative to update their website with new events and blog posts. This allowed them to keep their website up-to-date and relevant, while reducing the need for technical support.

The Result

In conclusion, our team worked closely with Starfish Initiative to redesign their website and address the pain points they were experiencing.

We created a more user-friendly navigation system, improved the website's speed and mobile interface, and made it easier for the organization to update content such as events and blogs.

The website was built using WordPress with custom HTML and CSS coding, and the end result was a website that exceeded the client's expectations and helped them better achieve their mission as a nonprofit organization.
